Terry Labinski
Class of '82
Terry Labinski graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1982. While at MHS he earned seven varsity letters. He was a varsity participant in football, baseball, track & field and golf.
In football Terry was a magician at quarterback expertly executing the option offense out of the wishbone set.
In his senior year Terry received the Rip Rintelman award for being the most dedicated football player and the baseball team’s sprit award. In 1982 Terry received the MHS Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year award.
Beyond high school Terry attended UW-Stout where he earned two varsity letters in football. He transferred to UW-LaCrosse where he competed in golf, track & field, and was a student-coach of the 1985 National Champion football team. He earned a degree in physical education from UW-LaCrosse.
Terry currently teaches elementary physical education in West Allis and coaches cross-country and track & field for West Allis Hale.
Terry actively competes at the national level in triathlons. Since 1983 he has been ranked number one nationally three times. He has competed in eleven ironman triathlons, including seven times at the World Championships in Hawaii. Twice he placed in the top five in his age group. He has also placed first the past two yeas in the Wisconsin Ironman competition. He was the National Long Course Triathlon Champion in 1999 and 2002.
Terry credits the leadership of his high school coaches Keith Hensler and Don Enright for his successes.
Terry Labinski certainly left his mark at MHS and continues to inspire.
