Steve Douglas
Steve Douglas graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1974
where he earned nine letters in the sports of baseball, basketball, football,
and track. Steve was a co-captain in the sports of football, baseball, and
basketball. The MHS mile relay team Steve ran on finished 3rd in the State meet.
In 1973 and 1974, Douglas was voted to the All-Waukesha County baseball team. He
also received the Senior Leadership Award and Outstanding Senior Athlete Award.
Steve attended UW-Platteville and was a four-year letterman
as a shortstop on the baseball team, being voted MVP in 1976, captain and First
Team All-Conference in 1978, and received the WSUC Scholar Athlete Medal of
Honor in 1978.
Coach Douglas currently coaches the East Troy High School
varsity baseball team, a position he has held since 1982. His teams have had
division championship seasons in 1989, 1990, 1995, and a conference championship
in 1999. Steve started the American Legion Baseball team in 1987 and helped
coach an American Legion State Championship team in 1999. Other coaching duties
while at East Troy High School include frosh and JV boys basketball, frosh, JV,
and assistant varsity girls basketball, varsity track, and football.
Steve played Land of Lakes baseball from 1975-1994 and was
inducted into the Land of Lakes Hall of Fame in 2002.
