Russ Coley
Russ Coley entered Mukwonago Union High
School in the fall of 1963 after graduating from Prairie View Elementary School.
Russ participated in football, basketball, and track during
each of his four years at Mukwonago Union High School. He earned two football
letters, two basketball letters, and three track letters for a total of seven
varsity letters. He was the quarterback on the football team, the center on the
basketball team, and competed in the high jump, long jump, 120-yd. high hurdles,
and the 180-yd. low hurdles during the track season. He also did the punting and
place-kicking for the football team. Russ acted as captain for the basketball
team during the 1966-67 season and earned First Team All Conference Honors in
the Southern Lakes Conference that year.
Russ competed at the state track meet in two events, the high
jump, and the hurdles.
In 1967, Russ received the Outstanding Senior Athlete Award
at Mukwonago High School.
Russ later returned to Mukwonago High School as a teacher. He
has coached freshman football, seventh grade basketball, freshman softball,
junior varsity softball, and varsity softball. He does the video taping for the
varsity football coaches, scorekeeping for the junior varsity and varsity girls’
basketball teams, and coaches the mock trial team.
