Ron Seidel

    Ron Seidel graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1972 where he earned seven letters in three sports. Seidel also played varsity football and baseball as a freshman and varsity basketball as a sophomore but not enough to letter.

    Ron was captain and most valuable player for both the basketball and baseball teams his senior year in addition to being named outstanding senior male athlete.

    Highlights in basketball included being named All Conference his junior year and All Conference and All County his senior year. Ron led Mukwonago in assists his junior year and in scoring and assists his senior year while shooting 83% from the free throw line. His senior year also included a game in which he scored 40 points.

    Highlights in baseball included a team record of 24 wins and 8 losses during 1971 and 1972. The 1971 team suffered a close loss to Beloit Memorial in the sectional final game. During his junior and senior years as a pitcher he compiled a 15-2 record which featured 14 consecutive victories and two no-hitters. A 9-1 record, 131 strikeouts, and an E.R.A. of 0.37 highlighted senior year statistics.

    In 1995 Ron Seidel was inducted into the Land O’Lakes baseball Hall of Fame.
