JoEllen Dickert-Sturtz
JoEllen Dickert graduated from MHS in 1988
where she was a three-sport athlete. During her four years, she earned All
Conference honors in volleyball, basketball, and softball.
Her highest achievements were attained in softball and
basketball. In softball, she earned four letters, threw a no hitter and a no
hit/no run game, received All Conference honors her junior and senior year, and
was recognized as the team’s MVP her senior year.
In basketball, JoEllen was a three year varsity player,
attaining All Conference honors both her junior and senior year and All County
status her senior year. She was named the team’s MVP in both the 1986-1987 and
1987-1988 campaigns. JoEllen led the conference in scoring her senior year,
guiding the Indians to a State tournament appearance in 1988.
JoEllen received the Senior Female Athlete award upon her
senior year. She went on to star in both basketball and softball at Carthage
College earning All Conference honors in both sports. While at Carthage JoEllen
earned a degree in Education in English. She then earned a masters degree in
Education Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in 2001.
