James Ludke
Class of '63
Jim Ludke is a 1963 graduate of Mukwonago High School where he excelled and lettered in football, basketball and track.
Jim played four years of varsity football, and was named to the all county and all conference team in 1962 and 1963. Due to his versatility he played the end position on offense and the middle linebacker position on defense.
He was on the varsity basketball team from his freshman to senior years. During his senior year he was named to the all county and all conference teams. He was captain of the team and voted the MVP player of the year for the 1962-1963 season, with the only unanimous vote from the committee.
Jim was on the varsity track team for all four years of his high school career. Once again he made the all county and all conference teams his senior year. At the 1963 Southern Lakes Conference track meet he placed first in the broad jump, setting the Southern Lakes Conference broad jump record at 21’ 10”. At the Brookfield Central Invitational track meet he placed second in the broad jump.
After graduation Jim served three years in the U.S. Army and 18 years in the U.S. Army Reserves. He did a one year tour of duty in Vietnam from 10-67 to 10-68. He attended WCTI-Waukesha for four years.
Jim married his high school sweetheart, Pam Peck, in 1966. The have been married for 38 years, with one daughter Jamie Ludke and one grandson, Tristan Ludke.
Jim Ludke certainly left his mark at MHS.
