Darrell Cottrell
Class of '65, Teacher, Coach
Darrell Cottrell is a 1965 graduate of Mukwonago High School where he participated in football, baseball, and basketball, lettering in football and baseball.
He graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1969 and received a master’s degree also from Whitewater in 1976.
Darrell has been teaching in the Mukwonago school district for 35 years and was named Teacher of the Year in 1996.
Darrell has coached cross country (six years), basketball (31 years), track & field (27 years) at Park View Middle School, and football at the high school for 27 years.
Darrell boasts being the head coach of a middle school track & field program which is the envy of the state. He is also proud to be a member of Coach Hensler’s football staff since 1978 helping develop the football program into a revered program statewide.
Darrell’s peers affectionately refer to him as “Mad Dog” because he has the voice and look of one, but anyone who knows him knows he has the disposition of a puppy dog!
Yes, Darrell Cottrell has and continues to leave his mark on MHS!
