Coleen (Luther) Wagner
Class of '79

    Colleen was on the varsity volleyball team her junior and senior years. She helped the team to a regional title as a junior and first year player. In 1978 she helped lead the team to a first Southern Lakes Conference co-championship. She was named to the All Conference team.

    As a freshman Colleen was on the Jayvees basketball team coached by Mr. Gerald Bethke. She was one of the leading scorers and rebounders on the team. As a sophomore in 1977, Colleen was moved up to varsity and soon became a starter. As a sophomore she was named on the All-Southern Lakes conference girls’ basketball third team.

    As a junior Colleen was made second team all-conference and third team all county. Her senior season was one to remember. Averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds a game she helped lead the Indians to a sectional win over Delevan and on to State. Colleen was named First Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention on the All-State team.

    Colleen went on to play college ball at Indiana State University. She was also on the dean’s list and nominated for Academic All-American. She played four years for the Sycamores and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and is currently teaching Special Education at Burlington High School.
