Bill Hinz
Bill Hinz graduated from Mukwonago High
School in 1951. He was a standout athlete in football, track and baseball.
Bill did not go out for football until his junior year, but
it did not take long for Coach Danielson to recognize his gift as a running
back. In Bill’s senior year the team went undefeated, broke all existing school
records, and captured the conference championship.
Bill was a standout baseball player, selected captain of the
team his senior year. Perhaps Bill’s most outstanding sport was track. After
baseball practice, Coach Danielson would hold track practice for interested
boys. Bill qualified for the State tournament in the 100, 220, and sprint relay
and won the State championship in the 100-yard dash.
Because of Bill’s love of the outdoors he elected to continue
his education at the University of Wyoming where he could also hunt and fish.
