Donna Samuels

Donna Samuels is a 1979 graduate of MHS.  While attending MHS she earned 11 varsity letters.  As a freshman Donna led the golf team to the first girls Southern Lakes Conference team championship.  As a junior she joined the newly formed softball team where she earned All-Conference honors both her junior and senior year.  She was also named captain and then MVP her senior year.  On the girls basketball team Donna was a starting guard for the first girls’ basketball team to participate in the state tournament coached by MHS Hall of Famer, Bob Douglas.

       Because of all of her accomplishments, Donna was honored with the Dahle award depicting the senior who most exemplified the traits of Dedication, Attitude, Honor, Leadership, and Effort.

       After graduation, Donna attended Iowa State University where she worked with the softball team and the school’s recreation program.  Upon graduation from ISU, Donna returned to North Prairie where she is an active community member.  She is currently a village trustee and has served on the planning commission and on the volunteer fire department.
