Ann (Baumgartner) Edington
Class of '79

 

    Anne came to Mukwonago High School as a junior and earned five varsity letters.  She participated in volleyball, basketball, and track during those two years.  Deciding to join the varsity volleyball team her senior year, Anne was named Captain and most-Dedicated Player while helping to lead the team to their first co-championship in the Southern Lakes conference.  On the varsity basketball team both years, she received the Best-Defensive Player award as well as All-Conference honors.  In track, Anne set several school records in various events, including the high jump, 100 meter dash, and 200 meter dash.  Named Captain and Most Valuable Player for both her junior and senior seasons on the track team Anne qualified for the State tournament in both high jump and the 200 meter dash.

    Anne went on to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens point, lettering four times as a varsity basketball player, setting 13 school records, including All-Time Leading Scorer and All-Time Leading Rebounder.  She was named Freshman Female Athlete of the Year in 1980, MVP and Scholar/Athlete in 1982, and Outstanding Female Athlete in 1983.  She also lettered for varsity track and went to the State tournament in the high jump and 200 meter dash.

    Anne has lived in Seattle, Washington with her husband for the past 23 years.  They have two daughters.  She remembers her time at Mukwonago as being filled with great friends wonderful teachers and coaches, and a lot of fun!  She still participates in sports, enjoying inline skating, tennis, and running.
