Marty Perkins
Class of '69
Marty Perkins graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1969. As a student-athlete, he participated in football, basketball, and baseball for four years earning a total of eight letters. A varsity starter for three years in football and baseball, he co-captained both teams as a senior and served as an officer in the M-Club.
In football, he played running back on offense and cornerback on defense as well as returned punts and kickoffs. Perkins’ baseball career continued at Carroll College where he graduated with a B.A. in 1973. His involvement in the sport extended into the Land O’ Lakes League for many years where he attained all-league and all-star status.
He is married to Suzanne, an educator in the Mukwonago Area Schools. They are the parents of Lindsay, Rob, and Scott, all former MHS student-athletes. While coaching youth baseball, basketball, and football teams and the Mukwonago High School baseball team, he greatly enjoyed the privilege of working with his own children and their teammates.
For more than 30 years Perkins has been employed by the Wisconsin Historical Society at Old World Wisconsin. As Curator of Research, he recently organized the museum’s first vintage baseball team.
He credits his parents and varsity coaches for their unfailing support and encouragement during his high school years and beyond.
