Doug "Boomer" Vollmer
Class of '69

     Doug Vollmer graduated from MHS in 1969.  While at MHS he was a starting defensive lineman on the varsity team for three years earning All-Conference, and All-Waukesha County honors his senior year.

     In basketball Doug was the starting center for two years and was the team leading rebounder for both years.

     In the spring Doug was a shot putter all fours years.  In all he earned nine varsity letters at MHS.  His senior year he received the national “W-Club” award.

     After graduation Doug attended Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI, earning 11 varsity letters in football (where he and Bill Hoagland played side by side), basketball and track & field.

     After college Doug took over the family auto shop business in town.  He also helped coach girls basketball teams for ten years and was a coach with the Mukwonago Braves youth football team for 11 years.

     Doug would especially like to thank Don Enright, Jerry Swan, and Jon Dahle for giving him a positive high school athletic experience.
