Cary Funk
Class of '87
Cary Funk graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1987. While at Mukwonago he earned nine varsity letters, football (2), basketball (2), track & field (3), and baseball (2). He was named the 1987 Male Athlete of the Year.
His senior year of football Cary was the Braveland Conference’s leading scorer as a fullback, earning him First Team All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention awards.
In Cary’s senior year of track & field his teammates voted him team MVP, due in large part to his versatility. Cary qualified for the State meet in the open 400m, as well as anchoring the 4x400m relay team. In addition to the 400m Cary participated in the 100m, 200m, 800m, long jump, triple jump, shot put, and even the high jump.
Cary went on to attend UW-LaCrosse where he played one year of baseball. He actively plays men’s competitive softball and participates in mini-triathlons. Cary currently lives in Kansas City with his wife Kristin, and their two children Trevor (11) and Hannah (5).
