Bill Hoagland
Coach
A native of Peoria, Illinois, Bill Hoagland attended and graduated from Washington Community High School in 1969. Selected to the Illinois All State Football Team and MVP of his high school football team. His jersey #40 was honored and retired by his high school for his athletic achievements. Bill played football and wrestled for four years at Lakeland where he was honored as a 1st Team Wisconsin All District College Football Player and the MVP in football and wrestling in 1972. He earned a Master’s Degree in Education with honors from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in 1984.
Bill has taught English and coached football at Mukwonago High School for 32 years. He has also coached wrestling and track and has been the Strength and Conditioning Director at the high school for over 10 years. In 2001, Bill was awarded District 19 Assistant Coach of the Year. He was selected as the defensive coordinator for the first British-American football game in Wisconsin, and he was selected as the defensive line coach for the 2003 winning South Shine Team. In 2004 he helped coach the Mukwonago football team to the Division 1 State Championship and a perfect 14-0 season. He has been part of the great winning tradition in football since 1973. He has also been a consecutive winner of the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers since the 1980’s. Bill is a sought after clinician and teacher at football clinics and camps throughout Wisconsin and has published several articles on defensive line play in football coaching journals. Bill lives in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, with his wife of 34 years, Barbara. David, the oldest son and his wife Amie are living in Menomonee Falls with their two daughters Meggin and Madison. Bill and Barbara are very proud grandparents. Steve, their youngest son, lives in Milwaukee.
Bill and Barb are proud that both David and Steve chose teaching and coaching as their careers.
